The Joy Scroll: 5 Social Media Accounts That'll Actually Make You Feel Better

Social media gets a bad rap. It’s full of negativity, distractions, keyboard warriors, and inappropriate content.
And it’s all subjective to the standards, values, and beliefs of each viewer.
But let’s look at social media today — right now — at this very minute of reading this article in a different light. A lighter light (yes, I did that on purpose).
Social media also has plenty of endorphin-stimulating accounts that cause the corners of your mouth to turn upwards, your eyes to squint a little with ease, a slight chuckle, and will even produce full-on belly laughs with increased heart rate and lung expansion.
In other words, while some social media can be overwhelming and depressing, there are plenty of accounts out there that are good for the mind, body, and soul.
I’m here to share five accounts that brighten my day, with the hope that somewhere out there in cyberland, someone is happier today because of it.
1. Suavexavier_
This guy has three stunningly handsome Dobermans — each with distinct personalities. He provides easy entertainment that brings out the humor in all of them. It’s obvious he loves his dogs, and they love him.
This combination of gorgeous canine physique, simple laughter, and reciprocal adoration among them leaves me scrolling through Suavexavier’s reels wanting more.
Tap on the video below to see this canine crew in action:
Maybe I’m a little biased for this one because I used to have a Doberman. She was the sweetest and easiest dog I’ve had –super smart, loyal, and loving. She also made me laugh. But even without having had a Doberman, I'd still get a kick out of these guys.
2. Gatlin Didier
I’ve been following the Didier family on social media for some time. They align with my Midwest Copywriting values and lifestyle. It’s an added bonus to my day when I see their comedy skits show up in my newsfeed.
The three main characters are Granny, Darrell, and Gate Bart. Their humor contains scenes from rural living with a healthy dose of silly slapstick.
The end of this short video was not expected, which delivered an inhaled gasp punchline that made me "HA!" out loud, followed by, "Aww, poor Bart Gate." Definitely worth watching.
I especially like the comedy skits they produce because they’re clean and usually have a message that survives the tests of time. Plus, they have an epic line of apparel, and Granny always has good old-fashioned down-home advice.
With followers exceeding one million, they’re proof that you don’t need profanity or nudity to have a good laugh.
3. Nate Bargatze
Here’s another prime example of good, clean humor that always has me laughing out loud because his stories are so relatable. And he knocks each line out of the park because of his impeccable timing and style of delivery.
Nate is the comedian you can go see with your entire family without embarrassment. There’s no discomfort sitting next to Grandma. And no need for attempts at distraction with young kids who make you cringe when they ask you to explain a joke that only adults will understand.
In this short clip, Nate gives us a hint of birth order relationships among siblings — and it’s soooo hilariously accurate.
If I were to plan a family reunion or ask my kids for a unique gift, I’d be looking at tickets to one of his shows. Heck, I’d even buy a plane ticket to go see him if he’s not performing somewhere close by.
4. _layla_the_boxer
I can’t ever resist the ease of humor that comes from animals. They don’t even have to speak, but their facial expressions and mannerisms draw out the most innocent and genuine laughter.
These aren’t necessarily bust-a-gut with laughter videos, but they give that pinch of orneriness comedy that you can’t help but giggle as they remind you of your own pets. It’s basically the video version of the old Sunday newspaper comics.
Layla and her fur-buddies are always up to some mischievous pranks. Typically, their skits involve a coordinated effort between Layla, the boxer, and Luna, the Australian shepherd, to pull a fast one on their human.
Check out their devious antics here:
The extra perk about this account is that they show the work that goes into some of the skits with behind-the-scenes footage. Pretty cool stuff.
5. Dry Bar Comedy
I saved the best for last. Not because of any single comedian, but instead because it’s a one-stop shop for short bursts of comedic variety.
It’s tough to pick just one from this account because they’re all so good for a quick hit pick-me-up. The downside (if there is such a thing in comedy) is that if I’m not careful, I can get lost in reels for too long.
Once again, this account tends to be more family-friendly, which is always appreciated. And it’s quite diverse — all races, disabilities, genders — so there’s something for everyone.
Here’s one example:

So the next time you’re scrolling through social media and you see a keyboard war break out among “friends,” just hop on over to Dry Bar Comedy and fill your cup with laughter.
